Beliefs

At Cultivate Harlem, we believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is God’s inspired and trustworthy Word, our final authority for what we believe and how we live. It tells one story: a good God made a good world, we turned away from Him, and He has been at work ever since to make all things new.

At the center of that story is Jesus. He is fully God and fully human. He lived the life we couldn’t live, died on the cross in our place for our sins, and rose bodily from the grave, defeating sin and death. Salvation isn’t something we earn. It is a gift of grace, received by faith in Jesus alone. Everyone who trusts in Him is forgiven, made new by the Holy Spirit, and welcomed into God’s family.

We believe the church is that family: a people gathered around Jesus, growing together and sent out to love our neighbors and seek the good of our city. We long to see Harlem flourish, and we believe the gospel brings real hope here and now. We also look forward to the day Jesus returns to set everything right. Wherever you are in your journey with faith, there’s a place for you here.
